Part-London, part Berlin-based, The Camp make minimal techno/electro wave, strangely compulsive, arch, blessed with only the occsasional highfalutin’ peak and full of strange-o theatrical voices, like the wackiest Metronomy or Beck after a week without daylight. The video below, an old song, even reminds me faintly of Queen at their campest, though that’s probably just me. Gimme Legs is my favourite of the new crop on MySpace: I like the lusty whispers, prowling guitar tones and the dutty language. It’s pretty much the musical encapsulation of my dream night out.
Also make sure to check out a recent humorous edit The Chap made of Gordon Brown’s pre-election “bigoted woman” gaffe. Or just follow “buy” below for the new album, Well Done Europe.
