Friday Films

Here’s this week’s video round-up:

Male Bonding – Tame The Sun (Live)
To (lazily) quote from SEXBEAT: “Male Bonding‘s follow up to their debut LP is out on 29 August via Sub Pop. To celebrate, they will be releasing a video each of the remaining days taken from their recent album playback show at the Buffalo Bar, filmed by Conan Roberts. The first installment is Tame The Sun.”

Man Like Me – Peculiar
A strange amalgamation of camp pop and Balearic sundown beats.

Breton – The Commission
Loving this trancey, trippy dream-pop release from Breton – the first progeny from their forthcoming debut full-length, Other People’s Problems, out next February (ages!) on Fat Cat Records.  The vid stars Patrick Lyons, a beat poet from Boston – and a legend on the south London squat party scene, which Breton used to regularly play on.

Theme Park – Wax
This is so delicate I feel like I’m endangering it simply by listening so intently.  It’s also sweet, melodic pop that makes me feel warm and fantastic inside.  Catch Theme Park at The Lexington next Wednesday.

Planas – Merry Go Round (Feat. Claudia Georgette)
SOIWT lust object Claudia has lent her sultry purrs to this hazy offering from fellow Londoner Planas, a legend of the capital’s dub club scene.  His first full release on Exceptional Blue is out now.
